PROVEN EFFECTIVENESS
OF HOMEOPATHIC AROMATHERAPY:
Homeopathic

Katerina Tsvyetkova and Professor T D Zadoroznaya both from the
institute of Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology (Academy of Medical
Science, Kiev, Ukraine)
This report details the
clinical investigation of the facial complex SUN REPAIR
created to increase the skins defence against ultra violet radiation.
This complex was applied twice daily to the face and neck of seventeen
early menopausal woman from forty to fifty years of age.
Their skin problems
included severe dryness, hyperkeratosis, hyper pigmentation and
wrinkles. Negative social factors consisted of high levels of daily
stress, a sedentary lifestyle, smoking and episodes of depression.
Skin biopsies of the
epidermis and derma and nasal swabs were taken before and after one
month of application.
Laboratory methods
included cytological analyses of skin biopsies to determine the index of
apoptosis and amount of anti-apoptotic gene bcl-2. (Apoptosis is the
genetically controlled death of cells while gene bcl-2 prevents
apoptosis and keeps the cell alive and functional.
They also included
immuno-histo-chemical methods to investigate the expression of monclonal
anti bodies to oestrogen, progesterone and testosterone.
The amount of
macrophage and T lymphocyte activity (defence mechanism of the mucous
membrane) was determined from the nasal swab.
Initial skin biopsy
showed:

Thinning of basal
layer of epidermis.
-
Sclerosis of blood
vessels.
-
Significant decrease
in index of apoptosis and increase in anti-apoptotic protein bcl-2
indicating a definite decrease in skin regeneration and increase in
mutagenic activity of the epidermis leading to keratisation.

Reduced intensity of
expression of the receptors to oestrogen, progesterone and testorone
with their uneven distribution along the basal layer.

Decreased macrophage
activity in the nasal swab indicating a decrease in defence from
bacterial or viral infection from the environment.
Secondary clinical
studies after one month of application showed a considerable improvement
in colour and texture of facial skin. This is due to an improvement of
elasticity, re-hydration levels and a decrease in small wrinkles.
There was a significant
increase in the index of apoptosis FAS (Apo-1/CD95) from 34.2% to 47.4%
indicating an increase in the regenerative abilities of the epidermis. A
corresponding decrease in expression of the gene bcl-2 from 36.8% to
27.8% means a decrease in the mutagenic process of the epidermis.
A tremendous
improvement in hormonal activity of the skin was indicated by the
statistically proven increase of expression to oestrogen receptors
(40.5% to 58.5%) and also to those of testostorone.
Analysis of the nasal
swab showed an increased macrophage activity from 8.2% to 12.6%
indicating an increase in the defence mechanism of the nasal mucous
membrane.
Therefore as a result
of these cytological and immuno-histo-chemical investigations, the
effectiveness of SUN REPAIR was proven.
Its efficacy is due to
deeper penetration of homeopathic ingredients and essential oils in non
toxic dosages, enabling activation of the different cellular receptors
of the epidermis and derma.
This new generation
aromeopathic SUN REPAIR complex, applied externally on a
daily basis, stimulates a remarkable improvement in metabolic, hormonal
and defensive activities of the skin.
